How Clawsmith Works

Clawsmith is a signal scanner for the OpenClaw ecosystem. It monitors real engagement data across 12+ platforms and scores opportunities by actual numbers — no opinions, no guesses.

The 4 Signal Dimensions

The best opportunities sit at the intersection of all four. Clawsmith tracks each independently and surfaces patterns.

🔥 Hype

Trending repos, viral posts, feature launches, star velocity, social buzz. Captured from GitHub Trending, HN front page, X, Reddit, YouTube.

Issues

Pain points, complaints, bugs, missing features, security concerns. Sourced from GitHub Issues, Reddit, HN, Stack Overflow.

💰 Revenue

Existing products making money, market revenue, TrustMRR data, funding announcements. Shows where money is already flowing.

📈 Trends

Google Trends keyword interest, rising search volume, growing terms. Leading indicator of where developer attention is going.

Virality Score

Every signal gets a Virality Score — the sum of all real engagement numbers across platforms:

GitHub: Stars + forks + issue reactions
Hacker News: Points + comments
Reddit: Upvotes + comments
X / Twitter: Likes + retweets + replies
YouTube: View count
Google Trends: Interest score (0–100)
Product Hunt: Upvotes
Stack Overflow: Question count + views
Rankings are determined only by Virality Score — never subjective. Every number comes from a real source. Approximations marked with ~.

Scan Frequency

Clawsmith scans all tracked sources once every 1-3 hours. Virality scores are recalculated on each scan. Score history is tracked to surface trend changes over time.
